Poutine Fest underway on Sparks Street

Carleton Journalism Intern, Hilary Thomson

Sparks Street is lined with vendors selling plates of fries, cheese curds, gravy and other toppings for Ottawa's second Poutine Fest today.

Poutine Lover Yanick says the festival is a chance for him to try something new.

"There's stuff that is not around my house. It's something that is close by and is different," he said.

Sparks Street held its first Poutine Fest last November and it was such a hit that they decided to bring in more vendors for the second edition, which is also one day longer.
