Local school to give students breathalyzer tests before prom

Every single student heading to prom at a local high school will have to prove they haven't been drinking.

North Dundas District High School in Chesterville will force them to take a breathalyzer test.

Principal Brenda Beaudette tells CTV Ottawa this will curb peer pressure to misbehave.

The prom committee says it's OK with the decision.

The school previously performed spot checks with breathalyzers when a few students were suspected of drinking at a dance earlier this year.

About a dozen teens were caught and sent home.
