Aylmer murder case put off until May 26

The Quyon man charged with first-degree murder in the death of his wife last month in Aylmer is due back in court on May 26.

Alain Gascon, 49, appeared only briefly in Gatineau court Thursday morning, just to be told his lawyers were waiting for the facts of the case from the Crown.

Gascon was arrested when his wife Angela Distasio, 42, was found badly beaten in her Aylmer apartment.

She later died of her injuries and Gascon was charged with her murder.

The pair have five children together and were married several years but had recently separated.
