A group of injured soldiers are making their way to Ottawa from Trenton this week as part of the Soldier On Afghanistan relay.
They're walking, running and rolling their way here with a very special baton in hand.
Maj-Gen. David Miller says that the baton is actually a flag.
"It epitomizes what we did in Afghanistan," he explained to CTV. "That is the last flag that flew as part of the Canadian mission in Afghanistan."
The 19 soldiers are expected to hand over that flag to the Prime Minister on Friday as part of the National Day of Honour.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper will accept the flag on behalf of all Canadians.
