Police appeal for help identifying body found in Ottawa River

Police need help identifying the body of a man found in the Ottawa River last month.

The remains were discovered in a reservoir April 29; police say the man's death is not suspicious.

He was white, between 50 and 65 years old, about 5-foot-8 or 6-foot-2, weighing 190 to 220 pounds with a grey beard.

He was wearing a green hooded jacket, several shirts (burgundy, navy blue, and blue with white horizontal lines), navy blue long johns, blue track pants, black industrial boots and leather or suede work gloves.

If you know who this man was, you're asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Central General Assignment Section at 613-236-1222 ex. 5166 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 or 1-800-222-8477.
