This winter's Measles outbreak saw four separate cases that required more than 1,400 hours of work on the part of nearly five dozen Ottawa Public Health employees.
Manager and Chief Nursing Officer, Esther Moghadam, explains the agency will now seek to recover the extra costs incurred trying to fight the outbreak
"The province has available one-time funding opportunities for extraordinary circumstances, like this particular Measles outbreak, that we will be applying for later in the year," said Moghadam.
Because the application will likely be made in the fall it won't be affected by the provincial election.
The actual dollar amount they'll be seeking hasn't been fully tallied.
