CHEO doctors and researchers win awards

CHEO is the recipient of more accolades this week.

Six of 11 awards handed out by the Canadian Paediatric Society on Monday have been awarded to doctors and researchers at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

Doctors Danielle Grenier, Sarah Lawrence, Alex Mackenzie, Gina Neto, and Chuck Hui have all been recognized for their contributions to paediatric medicine by the CPS.

Dr. Danielle Grenier was awarded the Alan Ross Award for lifelong excellence in pediatric research.

Dr. Sarah Lawrence was named twice, receiving the Michel Weber Education Award and the Noni MacDonald Award, for continued excellence in medical education in pediatrics and endocrinology.

Dr. Alex MacKenzie was given the Career Research Award for research on inherited paediatric diseases.

Dr. Gina Neto was awared the Anna Jarvis Paediatric Emergency Teaching Award, as an educator at all levels in the field of paediatric emergency medicine.

Dr. Chuck Hui was awarded the Danielle Grenier Member Recognition Award for his collaborative project called Caring for Kids New to Canada.

The awards will be presented at the 91st CPS Annual conference next month in Montreal.

On Sunday, CHEO was named the top hospital in Ontario for paediatric inpatient satisfaction for the second year in a row.
