Prescription drug drop-off being held May 10

CFRA News staff

This Saturday Ottawa Police are hosting a drop-off day for old and unused prescription medication.

Those medications should never be simply thrown out or flushed down the toilet and leaving them in your home can make you vulnerable to theft.

Ottawa Police say the misuse and abuse of prescription medications ahve become a public safety issue and they're urging people to dispose of the old drugs safely.

You can bring old prescription medications to the Toys R Us on Merivale or to Gloucester City Centre between 10 a.m. and 2p.m. Saturday.
