The third candidate running for mayor in Ottawa has dropped out of the race after just a few weeks.
Bob Gauthier said Friday he has withdrawn his candidacy for mayor despite having a list of issues he felt needed to be addressed.
Those included installing an under- or overpass or relocating the tracks on Woodroffe; building a bridge or tunnel to relocate truck traffic in Centretown; using sand instead of salt on streets; increasing prevalence of cigarette butt containers; and more.
Gauthier ran in the 2010 election and garnered 0.52 per cent of the vote or 1,414 votes.
The perennial candidate's announcement leaves just Mayor Jim Watson and challenger Mike Maguire in the running for the top spot at city council.
