Give Back to School Day to beautify local schools

Six area schools are getting a bit of a makeover today, for the fifth annual Give Back to School Day.

Over 50 volunteers will be helping to beautify local schools between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Robert E. Wilson Public School, W.E. Gowling Public School, Charles H. Hulse Public School, Queen Elizabeth Public School, Manor Park Public School, and Grant Alternative School will all see beautification.

Volunteers from Ericsson, Corel, Ottawa By-Law Services, the Canadian Medical Association, MultiCraft Import, Borden Ladner Gervais, GAP Factory Stores, and the Ottawa Police Service will be taking part.

Give Back To School Day is being held in conjunction with the OttawaReads Program, which draws volunteers to read one-on-one with children in Kindergarten and Grade One in Ottawa Schools.
