Every unit and division that served in Afghanistan was represented by at least one person today as hundreds of soldiers marched from the Canada War Museum to Parliament Hill with rows of spectators lining the route.
People came from Winnipeg, Calgary, Vancouver, and Fredericton to stand along Wellington Street to applaud and cheer the men and women who served in Afghanistan.
There were representatives from Army, Navy and Air Force Units and dozens of civilians who served Canada during the 12-year mission.
For the men and women who served overseas this was an opportunity to reflect on the mission, their friends they met while serving there and their experiences.
They said they were humbled by the showing of support from Canadians - both for the National Day of Honour and throughout the mission in Afghanistan.
