Natsis trial resumes

The trial of a Pembroke dentist accused of drunk driving resumes Monday.

Christy Natsis was charged with drunk driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death and driving while under the influence of alcohol following a May 2011 crash that claimed the life of Ottawa resident Brian Casey.

The trial began in in 2012, but has been delayed several times, partially because of scheduling conflicts in court, but also because the judge had to rule on the admissability of evidence.

It is really a travesty of justice that this case has gone on so long. The poor widow and kids of Mr. Casey. At some point, you would hope that Ms. Natsis would accept responsibility for her actions. Her actions killed a husband and father. Now is the time to answer for that!
