Ottawa Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who stole an elderly woman's purse in the Carlingwood area.
Police say the 87-year-old was walking in the Prince Charles/Saville Row area around 2:10 p.m. last Thursday when she was approached form behind by an unknown man.
The man through her to the ground and took off on foot with her purse.
He was last seen running northbound on Saville Row, then turned onto Black Friars Road.
Police say the woman was transported to hospital - where she remains - with a broken arm.
The suspect is described as white, 20 to 40 years old, with black wavy or curly hair.
Police say they're investigating whether this case is linked to another purse snatching on May 7th in the Cleary Avenue/Richmond Road area, where a cyclist made of with a 104-year-old woman's purse.
The suspect in that case is described as white and in his 40s. The woman did not notice until a short time after the cyclist brushed up against her that her purse had been stolen.
She was not injured.
