Early this week you may have noticed your commute through downtown was a little rougher than usual.
That's because there were closures Des Draveurs Bridge on the Gatineau side of the river backing up traffic throughout downtown.
Greg Kent, the city’s manager of traffic management, says the city is in constant communication with the Gatineau side to make sure traffic is running smoothly regardless of what's happening in Quebec.
He says while traffic on highways in Gatineau will always effect what's happening downtown, serious delays like what drivers saw this week aren't all that common and happen three to four times a year.
Kent says over the last few years, the city has improved its incident management and agencies in Quebec have been helpful in improving traffic for Ottawa's drivers.
