Ottawa Police make arrest in serial sexual predator case

Ottawa Police have made an arrest in the case of a serial sexual predator.

The man is accused of at least three sexual assaults, the earliest dating back to August 2012.

In each case a woman who was walking alone at night was approached by an unknown man, she was choked and sexually assaulted.

Police have spent long hours investigating this case and have put out numerous calls for public assistance, sifting through hundreds of tips.

There are still seven other unsolved sexual assaults in the city that police say are similar to the three linked cases.

Police Chief Charles Bordeleau is set to update the public on the arrest at 9:30 a.m.
