Carleton Place celebrates the local Junior A team, despite a loss

The Carleton Place Canadians thought the RBC Cup belonged to them, until the end of the third period.

The Yorkton Terriers' bounced back tying the game on Sunday night, scoring two goals - eight seconds apart.

The game went into sudden death overtime, with the Terriers scoring 15 minutes in.

But, despite the loss the town of Carleton Place will celebrate the team on Tuesday.

Mayor Wendy LeBlanc explained to CFRA that they had already planned a parade and celebration for the Canadians.

But it won't just be the Junior A Bogart Cup winners that will be honoured.

"We're also celebrating all the other minor hockey teams that did so well this year and they'll be part of the parade as well," Mayor LeBlanc explained.

The parade will leave from town hall at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday making its way to the Carleton Place arena.
