Lawyers for Christopher Hoare will meet Thursday with the Crown and a judge for a review of the bail hearing that took place last month.
Hoare was denied bail on charges of attempted murder following a lengthy bail hearing.
The reasons he was denied release are covered by a publication ban.
Hoare will be back before a judge on May 28 by video.
The Ottawa real estate agent is accused of trying to kill his wife. The pair have five young children together.
While in custody Hoare is banned from speaking to his wife and brother and can only speak to his children in person under direct supervision of Childrens' Aid Services.
Police arrived at the family home in April to find Hoare's wife had been beaten and someone had tried to suffocate her.
Hoare was arrested days later.
