One person is in hospital in serious, but stable, condition following a two-vehicle crash on the eastbound Queensway near Belfast Road around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
The 33 year old woman had to be extracted from her pickup truck by emergency crews.
Ottawa paramedics say she suffered serious arm and pelvic injuries.
Paramedics also assessed the driver of a westbound vehicle that was struck by debris from the crash.
The other vehicle involved, a cube van, had its diesel fuel tank ruptured in the crash.
Fire crews spent hours sopping up the spilled fuel, causing massive traffic jams on Highway 417.
The O.P.P. are still investigating the cause.
