Senator Vern White is staying put in the upper house. At least for now.
Monday, CTV reported there was speculation in The Hill Times the former Ottawa police chief was going to run for a House of Commons seat in the riding of Kanata-Carleton after M.P. Gordon O'Connor finishes his term.
O'Connor has confirmed he will not seek re-election.
White, on the other hand, tells CTV he talked the decision over with his family and decided he will not be running for the seat in the next federal election.
Kanata-Carleton will partly replace the current riding of Carleton-Mississippi Mills in 2015 when new federal redistricting comes into effect.
