Defence lawyers await disclosure in two high profile cases

Two high-profile cases were before the courts Wednesday afternoon: one a case of first degree murder, the other of serial sex assault.

Both cases have been put off for later video appearances.

Christopher Gobin's case has been put over another week while defence lawyers wait for the Crown to hand over the facts of the case.

The 18-year-old appeared by video this afternoon with his hair shaved short and close to his head, the first physical change in the month he's spent behind bars.

He's accused of killing his mother Luce Lavertu at their Orleans home last month.

Accused serial sex offender Yousef Hussein also made a brief appearance by video.

He's charged in connection with six violent sex assaults dating back to August 2012.

His lawyers are waiting for disclosure from the Crown and possible DNA evidence from the case.

His lawyer asked for the matter to be put over until June 9 to give the Crown time to put the information together.
