Dozens of charges laid in crackdown by police, OC Transpo

Ottawa police are teaming up with OC Transpo to tackle illegal behaviour at transit stations and on buses.

Last Friday and Saturday nights, officers and special constables — some in uniform, some in civilian clothing — rode various routes and conducted surveillance at Westboro, Lincoln Fields, Baseline, Fallowfield, Strandherd and Marketplace stations.

Twenty-three charges were laid under the Liquor Licence Act, 64 under city by-laws and one under the Criminal Code for breach of probation.

Officers also seized almost eight grams of marijuana.
