A bail hearing is now underway for Labib Khawas, the Ashton real estate agent charged with the attempted murder of his wife and daughter.
The Crown is presenting the basis of their case against the 55-year-old based on interviews and police work.
The more than six inches of documents are being read into the court record by an Ottawa police detective.
The details cannot be released because of a standard publication ban.
The Crown is outlining the police records version of what happened the night of May 3 before Khawas was arrested.
They're also presenting summaries of the victims' statements.
A woman willing to serve as surety for Khawas was the only person in the gallery of the court aside from media.
Khawas was wearing a stained white t-shirt and sat with his eyes closed swaying back and forth while the evidence is read aloud.
Police have said Khawas's wife had been stabbed and his daughter's finger had been severed.
