Ottawa heading for a record breaking year for potholes

It's the winter that just keeps giving as the crews try to keep up with a potential record-breaking amount of potholes.

The city is hoping to spend an addition $360,000 on more equipment to help fix potholes across the region.

They've already filled in more than 126,000 potholes this year compared to 190,000 in all of 2013.

The city says that within the first five months of 2014 they've already received about 6500 phone calls about troublesome potholes, that's compared to 7000 for the entire year of 2013.

This comes as CAA has given Carling Avenue a spot on their "Worst Roads" list.
