VIA Rail says there was no danger to motorists from a signal issue in Barrhaven yesterday evening.
Spokesperson Mylene Belanger says the crew of a passenger train moving out of the siding at Fallowfield station remotely activated the crossing signals at Woodroffe Avenue.
But the train was moving too slowly and the crossing arms went back up.
When the train hit the mechanical sensor, the arms went back down.
Belanger says flag crews were present.
They've been at that crossing for months.
