Police resume search for boater missing in Ottawa River

Police divers have resumed their search for a man in his 20s who went missing after a boating accident on the Ottawa River Sunday afternoon.

Several people say they saw a dinghy, carrying two men, flip over in the Deschenes Rapids around 4 p.m.

One of the boaters, who was wearing a life jacket, was pulled out by Gatineau firefighters.

The other man, who is presumed dead, was not wearing a life jacket.

Divers scoured the area until early Monday morning; they returned to the scene several hours later.

So far, no names have been released.
