Ottawa is considered the third most congested city in Canada.
Tom Tom, the Dutch maker of GPS mapping devices, says the capital is beat out only by Vancouver and Toronto.
Montreal and Calgary round out the top five.
In fact, Ottawa sits 12th on the list of most congested cities in North America, just behind New York City.
And, like many other cities, congestion is increasingly worse on secondary roads rather than highways.
The company's data shows the most-congested morning rush hour in Ottawa comes on Tuesday.
On the drive home, the busiest day is Thursday.
Tom Tom estimates that Ottawa drivers, who travel during rush hours back and forth to work, spend an average of 81 hours a year caught up in traffic jams.
