Premier Kathleen Wynne insists the Liberals are the party needed in the driver's seat to make Ottawa's transit dreams a reality.
Wynne says the choice is clear which party will back big transit projects.
"As part of this commitment, a re-elected Liberal government would make the funding of phase two of Ottawa's light rail transit a priority," she said.
She says PC Leader Tim Hudak won't do the same.
"He wants to take your LRT and plunk it down as a subway in downtown Toronto. For Liberals that is just not on. Not happening. No way."
Wynne made the comments while speaking to a packed crowd at the headquarters of Ottawa Orleans Liberal candidate Marie-France Lalonde who is battling PC candidate Andrew Lister.
