Motorcyclist dead in Gatineau crash

A 36-year-old man from Val-des-Monts is dead after a collision between the motorcycle he was driving and a car.

Gatineau police say the collision occured Tuesday around 9:45 p.m. on Chemin des Terres near Montée Paiement.

Officers found the man suffering from critical injuries.

He was pronounced dead in hospital.

Investigators say the motorcyclist was negotiating a curve on Chemin des Terres when he was struck by a car that appears to have crossed the centre line.

The driver of the car, a 29 year old Gatineau man, may be facing a charge of dangerous driving causing death. Police expect their investigation to take several more days.

So far, no names have been released.
