Ottawa South Progressive Conservative candidate Matt Young says he's stationing guards to watch over his campaign signs.
The move comes after a campaign worker spotted a man removing one of Young's signs at Walkley and Conroy Wednesday morning.
Young told CFRA it's the only way to ensure that his signs stay where they've been put.
"We don't have a ton of money," said Young. "We only have a limited number of signs that are out there, especially those really big ones. They cost quite a bit of money, so we're going to post guards at our sign locations."
Young alleged the man removing the signs is working with Liberal John Fraser's campaign, but that has not been confirmed.
"I supposed it's possible that there is a concerted effort across the riding by some tinfoil hat-wearing people to take down election signs of all varieties - I don't believe that to be the case," said Young. "Our folks that have been out there putting up signs the whole time for us have recognized this man and his truck as someone who's been consistently putting up Liberal signs for the campaign."
