Federal Government gives Barrhaven $15k for Canada Day festivities

The Canadian Government is giving the West Barrhaven Community Association $15,000 to help pay for Canada Day events.

Nepean Carleton MP Pierre Poilievre made the announcement today on behalf of Heritage Minister Shelly Glover. Poilievre is the Minister for State and Democratic Reform.

The events will be held at Clarke Fields.

Musical performances, children's games, a midway, a flag parade, and fireworks are planned.

In a press release, Poilievre says "I encourage Barrhaven residents to show your pride in being Canadian and take part in the festivities being held at Clarke Fields."

Darrell Bartraw, West Barrhaven Community Association Director of Special Events says "We are extremely proud of our Member of Parliament and Canadian Heritage for their contribution to the celebration of Canada Day in Barrhaven. We thank them for their continued support of this year's event."
