The transit corridor on Carling at Richmond needs a boost and the City has said they have to install a bus-only left turn lane at the busy intersection and they're starting the work Monday.
It will include narrowing the existing grass median to fit the new bus lane.
There will also be upgrades to the traffic signals, sidewalks and a much-needed resurfacing of Carling between Alpine Avenue and Richmond Drive.
The end-goal is to improve transit in the area for the many seniors and low- to mid- income families who rely on the service in the area.
Total costs for the project are slated at $880,000.
