No one hurt in nursing home fire

No one is hurt and everyone can go back to their rooms at a Nepean nursing home, following a roof fire Tuesday evening.

Ottawa Fire crews were called to Extendicare Starwood at 114 Starwood Road, around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, on reports of the blaze. It was quickly put out.

Residents were moved to a safer part of the building, one unaffected by the fire, as fire crews ventilated the building.

There is no damage estimate.

Ottawa Fire is commending the staff at the home for their quick and efficient actions during the emergency.
