Police look to identify body pulled from Gatineau River

MRC des Collines Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the man whose body was pulled from the Gatineau River earlier this month.

The man's body was found near the Chelsea dam by a Hydro Quebec worker.

He is described as white, around 5'10" with greyish hair.

The man was wearing a jacket with "Taekwondo Gatineau" emblazoned on the back, a pair of blue jeans and Converse shoes.

He also had a pendant that looked like an American 50 cent coin and a blue and silver ring with the inscription M-H-S on it.

Officers are trying to establish a link between the man and a 16-foot red canoe that was recovered at the Chelsea dam a month before the man's body was found.

No one ever came forward to claim the boat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant-Detective Patrick Tremblay at 819-459-2422 ext. 3286.
