Another shooting in the Herongate area has residents on edge.
One man was rushed to hospital Monday after he was shot in the face on Cedarwood Drive.
Now that the police tape is gone from that street, it's hard to believe that just one day ago there was a shooting around 5 p.m., when children were playing outside.
This is a neighbourhood where children bounce basketballs on the road, where young mothers pause to chat as they push baby strollers down the sidewalks.
It's also a neighbourhood where father's are now forced to wait with their kids at bus stops - worried about their safety.
"I'm going to walk them every day to the bus stop because I don't trust what's going on around the area any more," George told CFRA.
In the hours following the incident, George began searching the internet for rental unit postings in other neighbourhoods.
"I'm out of this neighbourhood," he said. "I'm just trying to look for some place else to get out of here," said George. "I have two boys. I want to see them live, not get killed in this neighbourhood."
When police arrived at the scene Tuesday, they found a gun and shell casings. Officers searched two areas linked to the crime.
They say the man who was shot is not cooperating.
The suspect is still at large.
