Man in serious condition after being shot downtown on Sunday

Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit investigating

A 24-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being shot on George Street Sunday morning.

Police say that shots were fired around 2:30 a.m. and when they arrived on scene they found the man, who had been shot twice in the upper thigh region, once in each leg.

He was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Witnesses tell CFRA they heard three shots in succession, screaming and saw people running from the scene.

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating but say the victim is not cooperating and refused to give a statement.
