The Ottawa Carleton District School Board has approved its 2014-15 school year budget.
The total budget comes in at $859.9 million dollars.
The bulk of it, $627.2 million, will go toward instruction.
$93.8 million will be spent on school facilities. $65.4 million is allocated to capital financing and miscellaneous items in the budget. $45.1 million will be spent on transportation. $20 million will go to central administration, and $9.7 million to continuing education.
The OCDSB operates 116 elementary and 26 secondary schools, as well as specialized education centres and programs.
