Representatives from Taggart-Miller will hold a community meeting Wednesday night on their proposal to build a landfill near Carlsbad Springs.
The landfill would span more than 400 acres on Boundary, Devine and Frontier roads.
A number of area residents and groups have been speaking out against the project, including "Dump This Dump 2."
"Dump" spokesperson Laurie McCannell told CFRA the dump "is not justified in terms of what Ottawa needs."
"We have three large private landfills in the city. This would be a fourth -- that doesn't even count the one that the City manages," she said.
"It's time to just take a stock here -- I mean, it's too much, just way too much."
Taggart-Miller is slated to present its environmental assessment of the site at the meeting at 7 p.m. at the Carlsbad Springs Community Centre.
