Road closures across the city due to flooding

Ottawa Police have reopened most roads that were closed down across the city because of heavy rain that caused localized flooding.

In the south east, Hunt Club Road, between Esson Street and Blohm Drive, was closed until about 6 a.m.

Earlier, the intersections of Woodroffe and Medhurst in Nepean, and Castlefrank and Winchester in Kanata were closed to traffic.

As well, a 417 on-ramp at Carp Road, and a lane of the westbound 417 at the Vanier Parkway had to be shut due to high water.

However, the high water washed out a culvert on Ridegetop Road in the Dunrobin area.

It remains closed between Dunhaven and Thomas Dolan.

Ottawa received 55.6 mm of rain yesterday, about 2.2 inches.
