More than 1,000 drivers were charged for having unsafe vehicles and heavy trucks in May during the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program.
Officers in Ottawa and Gatineau spent the month cracking down on motorcycle infractions and poor safety.
They charged 1-thousand 82 drivers in Ottawa and 40 in Gatineau for having unsafe vehicles.
Officers also charged 38 motorcyclists in Ottawa and 6 in Gatineau.
Each month officers target different road rules to keep drivers, cyclists and pedestrians safer.
