Strong winds do severe damage in Pontiac

Much of the area was in the grip of a tornado warning today, and while it appears nothing touched down there was some severe wind damage on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River.

Trees have been snapped and sections of roof ripped from cottages in Pontiac while a mobile home was toppled on its side.

Police say a stretch between Kennedy Road and Stanley Road near the Ottawa River was hit especially hard.

Fire crews and public works have been called in to deal with the damage.
