Thursday is day one of Bluesfest in Ottawa but the last-minute preparations are still underway.
It's the music festival's 20-year anniversary and it's promising to be better than ever.
There will be 14 acts for the opening day including Blake Shelton, Tegan & Sara and Dean Brody.
Joe Reilly, the festival's media spokesperson tells CFRA News, some of the sites are still in "hard-hat" mode. He says it's a mad-dash to the finish line trying to get food vendors, beer tents and swag shops ready for the 10-day festival.
The doors open Thursday at 5p.m. and the first show is at 6p.m. with Blake Shelton on the main stage.
There are five stages in total - four outdoors across Lebreton Flats and one in the Barney Danson Theatre inside the War Museum.
As of Thursday morning, cranes and crew were on site putting up lighting and building the last of the stages.
Around 3,500 volunteers and 1,000 managers and crew will bring this year's festival to life.
