Ottawa Police say they'll be focussing on Bike Safety on the roads this month, and say more and more people are using their bikes on their daily commutes.
Const. Chuck Benoit says bike blitzes target anyone whether they're a pedestrian, driver, or cyclist.
He says there are a number of things someone can get a ticket or a warning during an enforcement campaigns.
"Either going opposite way of the street, not using the intersections properly, being a danger to pedestrians by riding on a sidewalk or cutting them within the intersections, safety features like the helmet or the bell," Benoit said.
Their last blitz resulted in dozens of warnings and tickets, one arrest, and the recovery of one stolen bicycle.
Aside from cycling safety, Ottawa Police will also be working on red light-running throughout July.
