Redblacks set to play first regular season CFL game

The Ottawa Redblacks hit the grid iron Thursday night for their first ever regular season game in the Canadian Football League.

Quarterback Henry Burris and the team suit up in Winnipeg to play the Blue Bombers.

Burris told reporters in Winnipeg he thinks the Redblacks have great potential.

"We can be very good actually," he said. "I told people right now with the potential I see as far as in our locker room and the leaders that we have, like the Keith Shologans, the Paris Jacksons, Jovon Johnsons - and thank you Winnipeg for that - and the number of different people that we have, you know, I've definitely said playoffs should be the minimum for us."

The Redblacks play their first home game at TD Place on July 18th.

Right now the team is technically in first place in the CFL's East Division because they are the only team in the east not to have lost a game.

You can watch the Redblacks play the Blue Bombers on TSN starting at 8 p.m. or listen on TSN 1200, where the Ottawa Redblacks Radio Show begins at 6 p.m., followed by the pre-game show starting at 7 p.m.

Game time is 8:30 p.m.
