A young woman is dead and another in an induced coma as Ottawa Police say they're investigating severe reactions to pills consumed at rave events in Ottawa.
They say the events took place between Sunday and Tuesday this week - one in central Ottawa, the other in the east end.
In the first case, a 20-year-old from Ottawa was taken to hospital where she remains in an induced coma, suffering from liver problems.
In the second, a 19-year-old from outside the community was taken to hospital and died hours later.
Constable Chuck Benoit says investigators are looking for information from anyone who may have been at these parties.
The incidents are considered separate at this time, unless - for instance - investigators discover the same people are selling the drugs.
It can't be confirmed at this point if the young women took the drugs willingly.
The pills have not been identified, however police say they could possibly be MDMA or ecstasy.
