Two charged after Labrador shot in Western Quebec

Two neighbours are facing charges after one of them allegedly shot the other's dog in Poltimore, near Val-des-Monts.

MRC des Collines Police said the 27-year-old owner of the Labrador went to confront his neighbour after his dog was seriously hurt.

He allegedly cursed at the 78-year-old man and hit him in the face with a piece of wood.

Police say both men were arrested.

The younger man is facing charges of assault with a weapon and breach of probation, while the older is facing charges of animal cruelty and illegal possession of a weapon.

The dog is expected to survive.
