Police continue hunt for teen wanted in prom night murder

It's been a month since the prom night slaying of Ottawa teen Brandon Volpi on Besserer and police are still hunting for the person they believe is responsible for his death.

Just days after Volpi's murder, a Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for Devontay Hackett, 18, who is believed to be in the Ottawa-area.

Police told CFRA he doesn't have the means to travel, so they believe he is well-hidden somewhere in the area. There were initially several potential sightings of Hackett, but he hasn't been spotted for some time.

Hackett is described as light-brown skinned, around 6', and 135 lbs.

He is wanted on one count of second-degree murder.

Volpi, 18, suffered fatal stab wounds during an altercation outside of a post-prom party at Les Suites Hotel.
