Queen Street to close for three months during watermain work

The season of construction continues as watermain work will force the closure of Queen Street between Metcalfe and Elgin.

The city is advising motorists and cyclists to avoid the area but pedestrians will have access to the sidewalk and the road will be open for local traffic with access to parking garages.

OC Transpo will also be detoured during the construction, which is expected to last three months.

The Queen Street Watermain Rehabilitation is an Ottawa on the Move project to remove the original watermain that was installed in 1874, making it the one of the oldest in the city.
