City hall is taking another step in a bid to clear up exactly where tall towers can be built in the city.
Today, the planning committee is clarifying that parts of Kanata, such as those bordered by the Queensway, can accommodate up to 30 storeys, while residential areas should be home to a maximum of 10.
"We had some residents come out and they were concerned that, you know, if someone bought up two or three houses on a street they could convert that into a 30 storey building. Well, no. This strictly forbids that," said Allan Hubley, the Kanata South councillor.
These new rules still must be approved by full city council.
