Horticulture building to regain heritage status

It was, then wasn't, and now it is again.

The 100-year-old Horticulture Building is on its way back to being considered a heritage property, which gets special protection under provincial rules.

Councillors voted to strip the structure of its designation back in 2010 so it could be moved 140 metres east as part of the Lansdowne Park redevelopment.

The planning committee is giving its approval to re-designate the building as a heritage property Tuesday morning and City Council will be asked to sign off at its meeting on Wednesday.
