Three injured after pickup truck strikes pedestrians

Two women are in serious condition and a third in stable condition after an incident involving a pickup truck in Barrhaven Tuesday morning.

Ottawa Paramedics say two of the women were unloading a parked van on Calderwood Way around 11:05 Tuesday morning when they were hit by a work pick up.

They were dragged approximately three metres.

One of the women, 34, had leg and head injuries and paramedics say her leg was trapped under the van until bystanders lifted the vehicle off of her.

The second woman, 30, suffered rib and head injuries.

The third woman, 34, was the driver of the truck and suffered an injury to her arm.

Police are investigating.
